Keynote Session: Opioid Prescribing: Safe practice, Changing Lives
Randall Steven Hudspeth, PhD, MBA, MS, APRN-CNP, FRE, FAANP
Dr. Randall Hudspeth has been a NP since 1986. He holds bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees in nursing in addition to a MBA. The focus of his graduate work was practice and regulation. His primary job roles for the past 20 years have been senior nursing administration, managing NP practices within acute care hospitals.
His own clinical practice has been in pain management, substance use disorder, addiction recovery and palliative care. He served 8 years as the APRN on the Board of Nursing as vice chair or chairman. He is a fellow in both the American Institute of Regulatory Excellence (FRE) and the AANP (FAANP).
He has published 100+ peer reviewed articles on practice and regulation, opioid management and safe prescribing and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Nurse Practitioners. He currently serves as the AANP appointed representative to the CO*RE Faculty Advisory Board for the FDA endorsed safe opioid prescribing course.
